Am I an artist?

If you can't fix it, throw it!.... this is simply what I do when I am working on a new painting.

Yesterday I was looking at my small studio, I found tons of paintings that are unfinished. Some of them simply a disaster and some I got stuck in the middle and didn't get the inspiration to finish it.

Someone told me that artists intend to do this a lot, leaving unfinished work. I do that and I block this particular work from my head and start a new one, or sometimes leave everything aside, just staring at it for a long long time...

I don't know if this is good to do, will it help me move forward or is it a bad habit?

Once I saw an artist starting a painting on YouTube, he painted over and over like 10 times and each time a different prospective and different colors. I know that this took him days maybe more than a month because he was pausing several times during the video. Then he finished the painting totally different on what it was in the first place.

Artist tends to change his/her mind a lot and people see that he/she is not stable and confusing maybe, but I think this is how he/she works.

When I was studying my Master, our professor once asked us, how do you know if you are an artist or not? now I can't remember the questions as it has been 5 years since I graduated, but I answered the questions and it turns out that I am an artist.

So, I would like to address some weird things about an artist that I know I have personally and perhaps it is true that all artists have these things or maybe this is how we define artists. So let's do this:

1: Artists are big dreamers, day dreamers maybe. They have lots of dreams and plans stored in their heads that not all of them comes true.

2: Artists are not very social persons, or people persons. They prefer to live alone and stay alone. They don't like new relationships at all.

3: An Artist can't speak about himself, whatever he/she have accomplished, never show it to public.

4: An Artist loves and appreciate art, whatever it is.

5: Artists love to read  and they have books more than cloths.

6: Artists are very messy, leave everything behind without cleaning or organizing.

7: Artists get fed up quickly, they can't stay in one situation or do one task regularly.

8: Artists are very moody, they work and do everything according to their mood. They don't like to plan for the day, but they had to do sometimes.

9: An Artist is a night person, hate waking up in the morning. Most of his work done at night.

Now, with these 9 characteristics or things about artist, maybe these are general and not only for artists. But who knows!

I read once that every one was born an artist in a way. Maybe it is true, I can't tell. Maybe it is genetic, as I have 3 sisters who appreciate art and they are involved in art somehow.

So share with me your opinion about how to tell if you are artist or not... or how we can define an artist?...

I hope we can share and talk together.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, I was searching for smiley face vectors for the World Happiness Day, which will be tomorrow, and I stopped on a website that provides free vectors.

The website had a banner saying we are hiring!.. it attracted me, so I hit the link..

I found out that this website is looking for bloggers to write about designs and technology.. etc. So I said why not. I followed the steps to be hired then it asked me to provide a link to my articles or my blog... then I thought why not trying this and start my own blog. I know that I have plenty of time and lots to talk about and I always said it is nice to write about my experience and things I know.

So, this morning I opened an account in Blogger and you are reading my first post!

My posts will be for sure, inspiration, creative, self motivated, and of course, I will talk about my experiences and lots of I wonder why things :)

I might also write in both Arabic and English, what the case is telling me to write.. also according to my mood..

I hope you will enjoy reading... Wish me LUCK!
